Already in the 30s of the last century, the first Jawa motorcycles appeared on European roads, the Czech arms factory ČZ also decided to try its hand at producing motorcycles.
And like most motorcycle manufacturers, it all started with a small-capacity motorcycle, more like a bicycle with a 60 cc motor, but this design was not quite typical, the motor was located on the front wheel, but alas, the motorcycle was extremely unsuccessful, not a single copy was sold.
This was followed by more successful models, which gave a start to the enterprise, 98 and 175 cc engines appeared, and the motorcycles already had a more serious look.
This continued until the end of the WW2, as a result, CZ transferred to the Jawa concern, i.e. to some extent become a subsidiary.
After that, motorcycles developed by Jawa were produced, they were 123 x 148 cc motorcycles.
Despite this, CZ still develops his own motorcycles, but this is already a new path - the development of sports, world-famous cross-country motorcycles.
The main blow to the enterprise was the collapse of the Soviet bloc, as this drove the plant into a very bad situation.
But the company was helped by a contract with Cagiva, an Italian motorcycle manufacturer that had a good reputation in rally competitions.
After that, Italian motorcycles were produced there, but not for long, since this production suffered losses, as a result, after that, the plant did not produce motorcycles.
At the moment, the enterprise is operating, producing civilian and military products
